Crooners are singers who deliver their vocals in a smooth, intimate style. The term originated in the 1920s, when new microphone technology allowed singers to perform with a softer volume and wider range than ever before. This intimate style of singing was especially popular with young women at the time.  The crooning style is often associated with jazz singers, but it can also be applied to singers of other genres. Some of the most famous crooners include Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Nat King Cole.  Crooners were often seen as charismatic and stylish figures, and their music was often associated with romance and sophistication. The crooning style remained popular throughout the mid-20th century, and it continues to be enjoyed by people of all ages today.
